SELANGAU, Dec 2: A lorry driver died after his vehicle plunged into a ravine at Batu 62 Sepiring, Jalan Selangau-Bintulu in a self-accident yesterday.
Firefighters from Selangau responded to the 4.30pm incident. Upon arrival at the scene, they found the 32-year-old victim trapped under the 10-tonne lorry.
The overturned vehicle was carrying oil palm fruit.
The rescuers extracted the driver with the help of an excavator to pull the lorry up. However, the driver perished at the scene after suffering serious head and body injuries during the incident.
His body was handed over to the police for further action. — DayakDaily
