
KUCHING, Nov 5: A man suffered shoulder injuries after a tree fell on his car along Jalan Sultan Tengah this afternoon, while two adult female passengers and a child escaped unharmed.
According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the department received a distress call regarding the incident at 2.16pm and arrived at the scene five minutes later.
Upon arrival, firefighters from the Petra Jaya Fire and Rescue Station found that a Perodua Bezza had been crushed by a fallen tree, causing severe damage to the vehicle’s roof.
All four occupants, including the injured driver, two adult female passengers and a male child, were rescued by members of the public before the fire brigade arrived.
The injured driver received initial treatment from the Malaysian Red Crescent (PBSM) team at the scene.
Eight firefighters led by Operations Commander PBK II (TBBK I) Ibrahim Hasan were involved in the operation, which concluded at 3.04pm after the team successfully cut and removed the fallen tree from the vehicle. – DayakDaily
