KUCHING, Nov 10: Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) president Datuk Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian says new technology such as mobile phones will be the battle ground for the coming state election.

Encouraging every party member to make use of modern technology such as mobile phones for publicity, Dr Sim also warned that the same method will be used as a weapon for Pakatan Harapan (PH) and therefore SUPP members must learn how to counter.

He urged party members to change their mindset to make the party strong again.

“This might be our last meeting before the state electionm after which we will then go into the ‘war zone’,” he told some 250 delegates at the party’s Annual Delegates Conference 2019 (ADC) here today.

Urging all members to be ready for the state election as well as to build a stronger SUPP and a stronger Sarawak, Sim said everyone in the party must move forward.

“Previously, our MPs, assemblymen and leaders have worked very hard, but now, we must work smart. Remember, we are facing a totally different environment this time. Thus, we cannot use the old ways of doing things.

“Never underestimate our enemies especially PH. We must attack or else we will be attacked.

“The new federal government has made so many promises in the last general election which they have failed to deliver, to the extent of harassing and trying to split Sarawak.

“So we must grab this opportunity right now or there will be no chance at all,” he said. — DayakDaily
