ENGKILILI, July 5: Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) members are always united and give good cooperation in any matter to maintain the harmony of the party and Sarawak in general, says its president Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian.
According to a report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), he said there is no denying that SUPP is one of the parties which contributed to Gabungan Parti Sarawak’s (GPS) big victory in the last State election.
“The victory has seen seven new faces from SUPP who are shouldering the responsibility as State assemblymen, including in Opar constituency,” he said when officiating at the SUPP Engkilili Committee members’ swearing-in ceremony for the 2022-2024 term at SUPP’s Service Centre in Engkilili yesterday (July 4).
Dr Sim who is also the Deputy Premier of Sarawak further hoped that the Engkilili seat can be wrest back by the party in the 2026 State election.
Also present were SUPP Main Organising Committee secretary Datuk Mathew Chen Tin Kong, political secretary to the Sarawak Premier Teng Ung Woo, SUPP Main Committee member Lim Ah Ted, SUPP Saratok chairman Phang Puk Kong and SUPP Engkilili chairman Kua Jack Seng. — DayakDaily
