KUCHING, May 20: Nine mosques and suraus in Batu Kawah constituency received handouts and food from their state assemblyman, Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian, in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadhan recently.
Dr Sim, who is also Minister of Local Government and Housing, handed out the goodies during a breaking of fast event with the heads of these places of worship.
He said the contributions were to help the mosques and suraus conduct their activities during the fasting month.
The beneficiaries were Surau Wastu An-Nahri and Masjid Darul Muttaq in Kampung Rantau Panjang, Surau Darul Salam (Kampung Sinar Budi Lama), Masjid Darus Sakinah (Kampung Sinar Budi Baru), Surau Nurul Najihin (Kampung Stapok), Surau Darul Saadah (Taman Desa Wira), Masjid Darul Ibadah RPR Fasa 1 and Surau Darur Rahman (RPR Fasa 2) and Masjid Darul Ibadah (Batu Kawa). — DayakDaily
