KUCHING, Sept 19: Minister of Utilities Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom is leading a 13-member delegation to Japan to participate in the International Water Association (IWA) World Water Congress and Exhibition 2018 in Tokyo from Sept 16-21.
The biannual event is organised by IWA. It brings together more than 5,500 water, environment and related professionals from over 100 countries to present and discuss matters related to water management.
It is a global event that covers the entire water cycle for water professionals.
The theme for this year’s congress is ‘Shaping Our Water Future’. It has 187 sessions, 88 technical sessions, 52 workshops, nine keynote addresses and six leadership forums covering topics on pioneering science, technological innovation and the leading practices from all over the world to shape the transformation of water management globally
Among those accompanying Dr Rundi are Assistant Minister of Water Supply Datuk Liwan Lagang, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Utilities Dato Alice Jawan Empaling and representatives from the Ministry of Utilities, Rural Water Supply Department, Kuching Water Board, Sibu Water Board and Miri Water Board. — DayakDaily
