KUCHING, Sept 19: Dr John Brian Anthony has been elected as the new president of Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS), succeeding Bobby William, during the party’s Triennial Delegates Conference (TDC) in Sibu yesterday.
Deputy president-elect Dr Bennard Tahim and the newly elected Supreme Council members will join Dr John in steering the party into a new chapter of leadership renewal.
In a congratulatory message, outgoing president Bobby described the election outcome as an important milestone in PBDS’ journey and expressed full confidence in the new leadership.
“I am confident that under Dr John Brian Anthony and deputy president-elect Dr Bennard Tahim’s stewardship, and with the collective wisdom of the Supreme Council, PBDS will continue to grow stronger and reach greater heights.
“Together, they carry the hopes and aspirations of the Dayak community, and I believe they will guide PBDS with courage, unity, and vision,” he said.
Bobby acknowledged that the task ahead is not easy but stressed that it is filled with opportunities for PBDS to once again rise as a credible political force for the Dayak community.
“With capable leadership and unwavering commitment, PBDS can ensure that our people’s voices are heard and our rights safeguarded,” he added.
He thus called on all members and supporters to rally behind the new leadership and move forward with a renewed spirit of unity and determination. – DayakDaily
