KUCHING, Sept 9: Assistant Minister of Transport Datuk Dr Jerip Susil has approved a Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant of RM60,000 for the Mambong Headmasters Council.
The allocation is meant to be used to run educational activities proposed and endorsed by the council.
Yesterday, the six-member council delegation, led by its chairman car Josep Henry Nessem paid a courtesy call on Dr Jerip at the latter’s office at Bangunan Baitulmakmur to submit the proposal.
Dr Jerip, who is the Mambong assemblyman, commended the council for its efforts to organise educational activities and programmes for school children in the area.
“As we all know, education plays a crucial role towards the development of the people.
“So it is commendable that the council has come up to organise educational activities and programmes for our school children in Mambong area,” Dr Jerip pointed out.
Meanwhile, Josep said the programmes and activities were drafted by a committee, which was specifically formed to look into the matter. — DayakDaily
