KUCHING, Feb 25: Senior citizens in Sarawak without smartphones could register for Covid-19 vaccinations under their children as dependents using the latest updated version of MySejahtera mobile application, said Sarawak Health Department (JKNS) director Dr. Chin Zin Hing.

According to Dr. Chin in a statement today, those who do not have MySejahtera mobile application’s account can also register themselves at the nearest government’s health clinic.

“For the rural population, they can register themselves at District Offices (DOs) through their Ketua Kaum (community leaders), Ketua Kampung (village heads), and Tuai Rumah (longhouse chieftains), as well as the Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK),” he said.

He added those with MySejahtera accounts who have registered for vaccination are advised to turn on the “push notification” function to receive the latest announcements, and a digital immunisation certificate would also be issued automatically when the recipient has gotten the full dose of vaccination.

Meanwhile, Dr. Chin said JKNS has set up a hotline center to make it easier for the public to obtain any information related to vaccination programs, including what type of vaccines that would be used in the vaccination.

“The JKNS hotline can be contacted at 082-473275, 082-473276, 082-473304, 082-473320, and 082-473345, starting today (Feb 25).

“Therefore, to ensure the smoothness of the immunisation program, JKNS once again hoped that the public would immediately download the MySejahtera mobile application and activate it, or contact any nearest health clinic for registration,” he said.

One the same note, Dr. Chin also calls for Sarawakians not to be influenced by false information about the Covid-19 vaccines and contact the Health Department for correct and accurate information.

“The public are advised to get the immunisation jab at their nearest PPV in order to protect themselves and others in their surrounding, and please follow the immunisation advice and plan which will be given through the MySejahtera app, as well as from the media,” he said. – DayakDaily.
