SIBU, Dec 14: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate for N55 Nangka, Dr Annuar Rapaee expressed regret that a photo showing GPS mugs and money aimed at damaging his image has gone viral on social media.

The photo of two mugs with the GPS logo printed on them and RM250 with each of them went viral on Facebook and WhatsApp today.

“Referring to a post about a picture of GPS mugs and money on Facebook, I deny the matter is linked to money politics,” Dr Annular asserted in a post on his Facebook page.

Dr Annuar who is the incumbent for the seat, admitted that he had given the mugs out as a “gift to all as a token of appreciation.”

“The same mug has also been given to thousands of people in Nangka DUN before, including all vaccine recipients in the Mobile Vaccination Programme in LAKIS before. We believe the dissemination of the picture is a way of tarnishing the image of the candidate during the campaign,” he added. — DayakDaily
