DPM Fadillah now ‘Datuk Amar’; PRS president Salang and businessman Wee receive ‘Dato Sri’ honours

KUCHING, Oct 11: Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Sri Fadillah Yusof now carries the title ‘Datuk’ Amar after being conferred the Darjah Datuk Amar Bintang Kenyalang (DA) during the 79th official birthday celebration of the Head of State (TYT) Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar at the Astana Negeri Sarawak today.

Fadillah, who also serves as Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, was recognised for his long-standing service and contributions to Sarawak and the nation.

Meanwhile, Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) president Datuk Joseph Salang Gandum and businessman Dato Richard Wee Liang Huat@Richard Wee Liang Chiat were conferred the Panglima Negara Bintang Sarawak (PNBS) award, which carries the title ‘Dato Sri’.

They were among 1,372 recipients of various State awards, honours and medals conferred this year in conjunction with the TYT’s official birthday celebration.

Several others were also honoured with ‘Datuk’, ‘Datu’ and ‘Dato’ titles under various award classes. Among those conferred the Panglima Gemilang Bintang Kenyalang (PGBK) award, which carries the title ‘Datuk’, were Deputy Minister of Utility (Sarawak Energy Berhad and Petros) Dato Ibrahim Baki, Deputy Minister for Transport II (Riverine and Maritime) Dato Henry @ Harry Jinep, Deputy Minister for Youth, Sport and Entrepreneur Development I (Youth and Sport Development) Dato Gerald Rentap Jabu, Deputy Minister for Infrastructure and Port Development II (Port Development) Dato Majang Renggi, and Dayak Bidayuh National Association (DBNA) president Datu Ik Pahon Joyik.

Meanwhile, nine individuals received the Darjah Jasa Bakti Sarawak (DJBS) award, which carries the title ‘Datu’. They include Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Sarawak (MEITD) permanent secretary Adana Jed, Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR) director Dr Cassidy Morris, Sarawak Rural Water Supply (JBALB) director Awg Mohammad Fadillah Awg Redzuan, Sarawak Land and Survey Department (JTS) director Awang Zamhari Awang Mahmood, Betong Resident Richard Michael Abunawas, Human Resources Unit director Sharifah Rohana Wan Alwi, Sarawak Civil Service Digitalisation Unit (SCSDU) director Huong Siu Hung @ Huong Siew Hung, Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC) general manager Zainal Abidin Abdullah, and Sarawak Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (SALCRA) general manager Joseph Blandoi.

A further 25 individuals were awarded the Panglima Setia Bintang Sarawak (PSBS), which carries the title ‘Dato’. Among them were Tanjong Manis MP Yusuf Abd Wahab, Beting Maro assemblyman Razaili Gapor, Serembu assemblyman Miro Simuh, Meluan assemblyman Rolland Duat Jubin, 9th Brigade Commander Brigadier General Jafri Sulaiman, Bukit Aman Principal Assistant Director of E6 Special Branch DCP Mohd Taufik Toh Abdullah, Sarawak Energy Group Chief Operating Officer James Ung Sing Kwong, Sarawak State Development Office (PPN) director Jasni Jubli, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Sarawak director Hasbilah Mohamad Salleh, Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad Group CEO Ruslan Abdul Ghani and independent non-executive director Salihin Abang.

The investiture ceremony, graced by Tun Wan Junaidi and his consort Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, was attended by dignitaries, state leaders, and family members of the recipients.

The State honours list recognises outstanding individuals for their contributions to Sarawak’s progress in public service, politics, economy, education and community development, reflecting the State’s appreciation of those who have dedicated themselves to the service of the people. – DayakDaily
