KUCHING, March 17: Deputy Prime Minister Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof has hinted at the possibility of meeting with Opposition leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin next week.

Fadillah said at the moment, he is still waiting for the Opposition leader to set a date for the meeting.

“The meeting was supposed to be held last Tuesday (March 12), but it was postponed by them due to urgent matters that needed to be attended to,” he told reporters when met after distributing Bubur Lambok at Al Hidayah mosque in Petra Jaya today.

Asked if the meeting will involve a discussion on allocation for members of Parliament (MPs) or any signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the government and the Opposition, Fadillah said he needs to listen to their requests first before presenting it to the government.

He also said that that includes their terms and conditions because Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has given the mandate for the meeting and for them to voice their requests.

“I will present the output to the government for discussion after the meeting, and there will be negotiations afterwards,” he added.

Earlier, Fadillah, who is also Petra Jaya MP, and Tupong assemblyman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman presented bubur lambuk to residents at Al Hidayah Mosque in Taman Sejoli.

About 500 packs of bubur lambuk were distributed to six housing areas in Petra Jaya, namely Taman Sejoli, Taman Murni, Taman Heritage, Taman Long Seng, Taman Peaceful, and Taman Muhibbah. — DayakDaily
