KUCHING, Nov 20: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof has officially confirmed today on his official Facebook page that someone has been using his profile on fake WhatsApp, Telegram, and Facebook accounts.
Fadillah mentioned that several of his friends had informed him about receiving messages from an individual with the mobile number +6011-14045313 in a WhatsApp group.
“I have received a report that individuals are trying to commit fraud using my profile picture on the mobile phone number +6011-14045313.
“Some of my friends received messages from individuals who used the number to open a ‘Whatsapp group’ and have informed me,” read the post.
He went on to say that after checking the number, he discovered it was also used with his profile picture on the WhatsApp and Telegram apps.
“A report has been made to the operators of the Whatsapp and Telegram platforms. A check through Truecaller of the number revealed it uses the name Rinoneze.
“At the same time, individuals are using my picture to open a Facebook account. A report has been made to Facebook about the fake account.”
Fadillah, also the Plantation and Commodities (KPK) Minister, further remarked that his official Facebook account is facebook.com/fadillahyusof1, and his personal Facebook account is facebook.com/fadillah.yusof. — DayakDaily
