KUCHING, Dec 8: Deputy Prime Minister Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof has stated that he will pay a courtesy call on Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg this afternoon, along with Works Minister Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, Women, Family, and Community Development Minister Dato Sri Nancy Shukri, and National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang, to seek direction and guidance from the State leadership on their roles in the national unity government.

Fadillah told reporters this at a press conference following his arrival at Kuching International Airport (KIA) here today (Dec 8).

“First and foremost, we need guidance as the five ministers on what priorities we need to focus on for Sarawak in the national unity government.

“Second, we want to brief the Premier on the status of the newly formed national unity government as well as the outcome of recent federal Cabinet decisions,” he said.

Fadillah also disclosed that they want to know what their roles will be at the federal level in the unity government from the State leaders.

“We will definitely return, but we must first return to Sarawak to meet with the State leadership in order to receive direction and guidance.

“We would also like to know where we will focus our efforts in the fight for Sarawak and Malaysia,” he added.

Fadillah, who is also the Plantation and Commodities Industry Minister, revealed that Tourism Minister Dato Sri Tiong King Sing would be unable to attend the courtesy call on the Sarawak Premier because he had to meet with agencies under his ministry today.

Meanwhile, Aaron stated that as National Unity Minister, he will bring his experience from Sarawak, such as unity and living in harmony, to Peninsular Malaysia. — DayakDaily
