Dongjin Semchem Co Ltd receives land approval letter for Bintulu factory

SEOUL, South Korea, April 2: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan yesterday presented the land approval letter for the Dongjin Semchem Co Ltd factory in Samalaju Industrial Park, Bintulu to Dongjin Semchem Co Ltd Chief Executive Officer Lee Boo Sup.

Dongjin Semchem is investing in a foaming agent manufacturing plant with investments worth USD130 million (RM420 million). The factory is expected to be completed by 2021 and will offer 500 job opportunities.

Awang Tengah, who is leading Sarawak’s delegation from the Ministry of Industrial and Entrepreneur Development also met with five potential investors.


The companies are mainly involved in businesses such as iron and steel manufacturing, plantation, and petrochemicals.

Also present were Assistant Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Small and Medium Enterprise Datuk Naroden Majais, Assistant Minister of Industrial Development Malcolm Mussen Lamoh and Ministry of Industrial and Entrepreneur Development Permanent Secretary Datu Liaw Soon Eng. — DayakDaily
