KUCHING, June 28: In playing a small part to assist Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak) to set up community libraries in Sarawak especially the rural areas, DayakDaily is collecting children’s books from the public.

The books collected will be transported to a primary school in the interior of Belaga which is home to the residents of three Penan villages.

BESarawak and Sarawak State Library have contributed 500 copies while DayakDaily as of today has collected about 400 copies, including about 50 books collected this very afternoon.

The Penan villages the DayakDaily team will be heading to are in a very remote location, only reachable after hours of travel over timber roads. Due to difficulties in accessibility, we hope to transport as many books as possible as the chances of making another trip there is slim.

Thus, if you have books which have been occupying storage space or gathering dust, please send them to us at 1st Floor, Sublot 3536, TT3 Plaza, off Jalan Canna.

There is a drop-off corner set up on the staircase landing where donated books may be dropped off safely.

Do bring your books to us during office hours from 8am to 5pm on Monday to Friday before the new deadline of July 1, 2022. — DayakDaily
