KUCHING, May 11: Former Padungan assemblyman Dominique Ng has rejoined Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).

Ng who made the announcement today was with PKR from 1999 to 2011.

In a press statement today, Ng said he left PKR in 2011 due to betrayal by what he described as the “cartel of YBs” within PKR.

“The reason why I had to leave the PKR was because I was betrayed by the ‘cartel of YBs’ within PKR and my seat of Padungan was swapped with that of DAP’s Voon Lee Shan in Batu Lintang at the very last minute, thus killing off two quite active YBs who have both striven very hard to serve their constituencies,” said Ng.

He said since those who had betrayed him before had left the party and there is invitation for him to rejoin, he made the decision to return to the party to help solve the internal crisis the party is facing currently.

He said it was only after a very long consideration that he decided to go back to the PKR.

“I sincerely hope that the PKR would become a much better party, one that can truly fight and genuinely fight for people’s justice, after such a soul searching and deep betrayal.

“For the sake of the people of Sarawak, I am prepared to let bygones be bygones and I have already long forgiven those who have betrayed me,” said Ng.

Ng who was Padungan assemblyman from 2006 to 2011, is now the President of the Sarawak Association for People’s Aspirations (SAPA), a human rights association.

He said the PKR party leadership is aware of his stance and position on human rights where he reassured members and supporters of SAPA that he has not changed his stance and resolution to fight for the return of the rights of Sarawak. — DayakDaily
