MIRI, April 11: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumers Affairs (KPDNHEP) seized 80,000 litres of diesel worth RM382,400 from a cargo boat after raiding a building in Jalan Permaisuri, Kampung Wireless, at 3.30pm on Tuesday.
The raid was mounted by a team comprising four ministry enforcement officers.
Its Miri chief, Joe Azmi Jamil, said the boat has been confiscated.
“The raid was conducted as the premises was reported to have been storing diesel despite having an expired licence since Dec 13, 2014,” said Joe.
The case is being investigated under the Control of Supplies Act 1961 for wrongful trading of controlled goods without a licence. — DayakDaily
