PANTU, June 8: The Sarawak Irrigation and Drainage Department (DID) Sri Aman Division has taken the initiative to build a water reservoir to reduce drainage problems here.
According to a Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) report today, the pool would be built near Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (C) Chung Hua Pantu.
It will serves as a reservoir of water channeled from the Pantu town area, government quarters and nearby areas.
Previously, the area often experienced flash floods due to the existing drainage system failing to address the problem.
Apart from that, larger drainage will also be built to upgrade the current drainage system in the Pantu town area to facilitate drainage to the Sungai Batang Strap Pantu. — DayakDaily
