KUCHING, Dec 14: Land ownership disputes must not become a barrier to Sarawak’s development, says Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan.
According to a report by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), Awang Tengah emphasised that the government is committed to providing compensation for landowners with legitimate claims.
He urged public cooperation to facilitate infrastructure development, including roads, water, electricity, and telecommunications, to uplift living standards across the state.
“With this cooperation, we can develop areas and improve our standard of living. We want every corner of our region to be developed for the benefit of our people,” he said during his speech at the Pre-Christmas and New Year 2025 Celebration held at Banting Indoor Hall on Dec 12.
At the event, Awang Tengah also distributed Christmas aid to representatives from 84 churches in the Lawas District. — DayakDaily
