KUCHING, March 6: Sarawak’s Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian once again turned heads with his signature yellow attire, but this time, he opted for a traditional twist.
Attending a breaking of fast event with civil servants at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) Complex tonight, Dr Sim stood out in a vibrant yellow Baju Melayu Johor, a departure from his usual yellow T-shirt.
The striking outfit choice did not go unnoticed, with many attendees appreciating the cultural and religious significance of the attire during the holy month of Ramadan.
While it is well-known that Dr Sim frequently dons yellow—whether at official functions or casual outings—his choice to wear the traditional outfit tonight added an extra layer of meaning to the gathering.
Clarifying his outfit choice, Dr Sim said that it was not new and that he has worn it several times before, especially when visiting Malay villages.

Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg was the guest of honour at the event, breaking fast together with civil servants, community leaders, and dignitaries.
Also present were Sarawak Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts (MTCP) Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah; Minister of Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development (KPWK) Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah; Minister of Transport (MOTS) Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin; Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki; Deputy Minister of Utility and Telecommunication (MUT) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, who is also in charge of Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) and Islamic Affairs; and Deputy Minister of Transport (Aviation and Roads) Datuk Dr Jerip Susil. – DayakDaily
