Deputy Premier Dr Sim receives Clinical Research Malaysia Leadership Award

KUCHING, May 10: Sarawak Deputy Premier and Minister of Public Health, Housing, and Local Government (MPHLG) Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian has received the Clinical Research Malaysia (CRM) Leadership Award in conjunction with Clinical Trials Day and CRM Trial Connect 2024 held in Kuala Lumpur yesterday (May 9).

Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUS) Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar recorded his congratulatory remark to Dr Sim during the opening of the fifth day of the DUS sitting here today.


“On behalf of the august House, I wish to congratulate (Dr Sim), who has received the Clinical Research Malaysia (CRM) Leadership Award in conjunction with Clinical Trials Day and CRM Trial Connect 2024 yesterday in Kuala Lumpur,” he said.

Meanwhile, Dr Sim, in his Facebook post late last night, expressed that he was very honoured and privileged to be the first recipient of the award.

“(It) is a recognition and acknowledgement of the struggle, dedication, passion, sacrifices and perseverance of each member of my team at the Clinical Research Centre (CRC) of Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) over the last 20 years since we started in 2003, against all odds from the Jungle of Borneo,” he wrote.

“Today (May 9) at CRM Trial Connect meeting, in front of over 1,000 medical research fraternity, Ministry of Health (MOH) senior managements and relevant units, and pharmaceutical and medical industries, we were also being acknowledged for Top Investigator of the Year (awarded to Dr Voon Pei Jya of SGH) and Top Study Site (MOH) – by SGH.” — DayakDaily
