KUCHING, Aug 26: The issue involving an electric pole erected in the middle of the road in Kampung Melayu, Belaga will be addressed immediately.
According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) yesterday (Aug 25), Deputy Minister of Utility and Telecommunication (Telecommunication) Datuk Liwan Lagang said he has met with Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) to relocate the electricity pole.
“The ministry will bear all the expenses for it and it will be done as soon as possible by the SEB contractor,” he said when met by reporters in his office on yesterday.
On Aug 23, residents of the village in Belaga had complained about the lamp post which appears to be standing in the middle of a road, posing a danger to motorists. — DayakDaily
