KUCHING, Aug 31: Long San, Lubok Antu, and Limbang will get new health clinics to ensure that residents in remote areas have better access to healthcare services.
According to TVS, Deputy Health Minister Datuk Lukanisman Awang Sauni said that a contractor has already been appointed and that the projects are expected to be completed within three to four years.
He made this statement during the Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang (KMJG) programme, held in conjunction with the National Day and Malaysia Day 2025 celebrations in Miri recently.
“Residents in Long San will no longer have to endure difficulties, as a new clinic will be provided. Similarly, in Lubok Antu, the old, dilapidated riverside clinic is being replaced with a new facility.
“In Limbang, there is a hospital but no health clinic. I was recently informed that people start queuing as early as 4.30am at the hospital’s outpatient department.
“Therefore, I have approved the construction of a new clinic next to the hospital,” he said. — DayakDaily
