Sungai Arip, Sungai Bawang and Sungai Tau resident told to not be complacent after 2nd dose-13/8/21
KUCHING, Aug 13: Kakus assemblyman Datuk John Sikie Tayai has reminded residents of Sungai Arip, Sungai Bawang and Sungai Tau not to be complacent after receiving their second dose of Covid-19 vaccination.
Quoted by Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), John Sikie was reported to say that despite having 100 per cent of the population in the area vaccinated, one must be vigilant because the Delta variant is spreading fast.
“We do not know if we are the carriers of Covid-19 because of the lack of symptoms due to the strong antibodies.
“However, it can spread to the vulnerable and the elderly, including our grandchildren aged 18 years old and below, who have not received vaccination. These are the people we must take care of,” he said during the Minor Rural Project (MRP) Handing Over Ceremony for Kakus constituency held at Rh. Lipu, yesterday.
On the MRP grants, John Sikie explained that the grants are distributed in accordance to priority and rotation.
“I would like to request Village Security and Development Committees (JKKKs) which have yet to receive the MRP cheque to be patient.
“Each longhouse will receive it based on the yearly rotation, and everyone will get the appropriate allocation,” he said.
The MRP grant cheques totalling RM114,000, were distributed to seven JKKK, namely to JKKK Rh Jandang anak Anyong, JKKK Rh. Minggu anak Chili, JKKK Rh. Muda anak Lunjang, JKKK Rh. Mulok anak Tama, JKKK Rh. Tangkun anak Mandau, JKKK Rh. Tepi anak Ebek, and JKKK Rh. Undom anak Anchih.
Later in the evening, John Sikie distributed another RM300,000 worth of MRP to eight JKKK, namely JKKK Rh. Lipu anak Ngalih, JKKK Rh. Alian anak Bedindang, JKKK Rh. Anti anak Lipah, JKKK Rh. Dicka anak Anthony, JKKK Rh. Gansau anak Antas, JKKK Rh. Lunin anak Benang, JKKK Rh. Nyangun anak Uchong, and JKKK Rh. Nai anak Manggie.
