During his speech, he highlighted that Deepavali transcends race and religion and commended the IAK for its continued dedication to assisting B40 families.

“Events like this remind us that prosperity is best shared, and every act of giving brings light into someone’s life, just as the lamps of Deepavali bring brightness to the world,” he said.

He added that the Annual Deepavali Charity exemplifies the spirit of ‘muhibbah’ and inclusivity in Kuching, reflecting the city’s multicultural harmony and compassion as the event was supported by community partners, sponsors, and volunteers who helped spread festive cheer to the underprivileged.

On behalf of Dr Sim, Wee also extended appreciation to all contributors and wished everyone present a happy and blessed Deepavali, filled with health, happiness, and harmony. — DayakDaily
