KUCHING, Oct 29: Development Bank of Sarawak’s (DBOS) total assets have grown to RM9.47 billion, with retained earnings at RM130.48 million as of October 2022.

“I am happy to report that as of October 2022, total loans approved by DBOS is RM15.27 billion with a progressive drawdown of RM8.93 billion,” said its chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani, during the DBOS 5th Anniversary Dinner streamed live via Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) Facebook page today.

Morshidi noted, in the next five years, DBOS will strive to be an effective financial model in delivering its mandate.

He said DBOS plans to embark on a Shariah-compliant banking business as well as charting its initiatives on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) in line with Sarawak’s Post Covid Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 strategy towards inclusivity, sustainability, and environment.

He also said DBOS would actively identify opportunities to provide green finance, embed ESG objectives into its business practices, and possibly partner with other financial institutions, such as club deal syndication loans, to advance Sarawak further.

“DBOS will also leverage digitalisation applications to create a smart banking system, operations and service delivery,” he added. — DayakDaily
