Dayang Joanita Azizah Abang Morshidi assumes role as new Resident of Kuching Division, succeeding Norleha Shariff

KUCHING, April 23: Dayang Joanita Azizah Abang Morshidi has been appointed as the new Resident of Kuching Division, taking over from Norleha Shariff starting April 15.

According to a Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) news report, Dayang has held positions in various state government agencies before her new appointment.

The handover of duties ceremony occurred at the Kuching Resident Office yesterday (April 22) between the outgoing and incoming Residents.

Dayang, meantime, expressed in her brief address her hope that, like previous Residents who have held the position, all of the Kuching Division Resident Office staff would be able to work with her.

Norleha also provided an overview of her office’s functions as a leading agency, which includes collaborating with District and Sub-District Offices to organise various programmes at the Kuching division level, such as the Sarawak Delta Geopark, Sarawak Regatta, Tasik Biru Festival, Telaga Air Festival, and Community Leaders and Village Chiefs (KMKK).

Also present at the ceremony were Kuching District Officer Solfi Jebal; Bau District Officer Constantine Gerald David Jonas; Lundu District Acting Officer Muhammad Isa Limon; and Padawan Sub-District Office administrator Julius Scott Sapong. — DayakDaily
