KUCHING, Oct 13: DayakDaily is once again launching its annual initiative in collaboration with Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak) to collect children’s books from the public to be donated to the children in rural Sarawak.
For the year 2026, all books collected will be transported to a chosen rural library. The handover will be held in conjunction with DayakDaily’s annual D’Drift Trip scheduled for February 18 to 27, 2026.
A collection box has been placed on the ground floor of our office at TT3 Plaza, next to the stairway by HWC Coffee, off Jalan Canna. We are also honoured to receive assistance La Promenade Mall in Kota Samarahan, who would be providing space for DayakDaily to set up a book collection area in their premises.


The book collection corner will be available at La Promenade Mall from Oct 13 to Nov 21.
Members of the public are encouraged to donate their used books suitable for children and youths aged 18 and under.
In March this year, DayakDaily successfully transported 1,052 books and 10 large bags of soft toys to Tarat, which were officially handed over to Tarat assemblyman Dato Sri Roland Sagah Wee Inn, who is also the Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development (MEITD).
In March 2024, DayakDaily transported 1,340 second-hand books and three boxes of soft toys to the community library known as the Reading Corner at the Long Latei Penan Service Centre in Ulu Baram.
In August 2023, the organisation donated 1,000 storybooks and two large bags of soft toys to the Orang Ulu community in Ulu Belaga.
In 2022, DayakDaily launched its inaugural second-hand book collection campaign, successfully delivering over 1,000 books to SK Lusong Laku for Penan children. —DayakDaily
