Darul Hana Devt Project: RM75mil in compensation disbursed to 263 Kpg Pulo Ulu landowners

KUCHING, Oct 14: Landowners in Kampung Pulo Ulu in Kuching have received over RM75 million in compensation from the Darul Hana Development Project.

According to Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA) in a press statement today, the cheque was presented by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, who is also the Second Minister of Natural Resources and Urban Development, during a ceremony held at Wisma SABATI in Petra Jaya today.

“A total of RM75,718,032.62 worth of cheques were presented to 263 land owners in Kampung Pulo Ulu involving 124 lot of land titles and one Native Customary Land (NCR) Bumiputera lot,” it said.

Awang Tengah also presented Darul Hana house keys to 60 household heads from Kampung Pulo Ulu, including land titles.

Speaking at the ceremony, Awang Tengah said as of Sept 30, 564 units of houses had been built in Darul Hana for households from three villages and land owners around Jalan Tun Datuk Patinggi Abang Haji Muhammad Salahuddin and Jalan Demak.

He said, in addition, 94 housing units are currently being implemented and expected to be completed in 2026, while 1,545 units have been planned under the 13th Malaysia Plan (MP) and 418 units under 14MP, making a total of 2,621 units.

“A total of 557 households head (KIR) from three villages, including from Kampung Pulo Ulu and lots around Jalan Tun Datuk Patinggi Abang Haji Muhammad Salahuddin and Jalan Demak, have also been offered new houses.

“The remaining seven house units are still in the final process of documentation to be offered houses,” he said.

Darul Hana Development project is a pilot project under the Urban Renewal Project, which is implemented by the Sarawak government under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Urban Development (MUDeNR) and led by LCDA.

The development of Darul Hana involves 13 traditional villages with an area of 722 acres. — DayakDaily
