KUCHING, Nov 12: The Kuching North City Hall (DBKU) will lodge a police report after a TikTok video showed three individuals climbing a road sign structure and lamp post, endangering themselves and public property.
According to a recent DBKU Facebook post, the council warned that such behaviour violates Local Authorities (Cleanliness) By-laws, 1999, which prohibit posting materials or tampering with road signs without permission. First-time offenders face fines up to RM1,500, while repeat offences can result in additional fines of RM3,000 or up to nine months in jail.
DBKU described the actions as “indecent and unacceptable”, stressing that public safety and city image must be protected. The council also urged residents to respect public facilities and warned that violations would be dealt with firmly. —DayakDaily
