SIBU, Nov 7: Sarawak Democratic Action (DAP) chairman Chong Chieng Jen has called on Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) to withdraw from the 15th General Election (GE15) as they are just a ‘spoiler’.

“PSB will not become a kingmaker by just winning one or two parliamentary seats.

“Thus, it is clear they will not win but are merely a ‘spoiler’ to split votes. That’s the real role that PSB is playing in the general election,” said Chong at a press conference at DAP Sibu headquarters today.

Chong said that based on the number of seats that PSB won in the last State election, it would also show that the local Opposition party’s efforts to contest in GE15 would go down the drain.

In the 12th Sarawak Election last year, PSB won only four out of 72 seats they contested.

Chong, who is also DAP candidate for Stampin, called PSB a ‘lalang’ for not naming and deciding who their prime minister candidate is post-GE15.

“PSB has no national platform, without a firm stance or clear direction — like a ‘lalang’,” he said. — DayakDaily
