KUCHING, Mar 30: Democratic Action Party (DAP) leaders are continuing their SPM incentive programme for students in Bandar Kuching (P195) and Stampin (P196) parliamentary constituencies, which has distributed over RM1 million since its inception in 2022, and called on high achievers to register themselves for the incentive.
Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii Lee Wuen said the initiative is designed to recognise and reward students who achieve excellent results in their SPM examinations.
Students with six As will receive RM200, seven As RM300, eight As RM500, nine As RM600, and 10 As or more RM700.
“Students must register through the application form available on our social media pages, and applicants must reside in either Bandar Kuching or Stampin, as stated on their identity card,” he told reporters after a joint press conference on the SPM Excellent Reward Scheme held at DAP Sarawak Headquarters, today.
Yii added that in 2025, around 300 to nearly 400 students received the incentive and the number of participants has grown steadily since the programme began.
“Additional incentives for STPM and tertiary students are provided under separate schemes, and further details will be shared as students progress in their education,” he said.
He encouraged eligible students to apply, emphasising that the initiative recognises their hard work and achievements. — DayakDaily
