KUCHING, June 9: In conjunction with the Dragon Boat Festival celebration tomorrow (June 10), Democratic Action Party (DAP) Stampin took the opportunity to spread love and joy by presenting rice dumplings to traders at the 7th Mile market.
DAP’s Michael Kong hoped to continue the cherished tradition and culture of the Dragon Boat Festival as well as educate the younger generation about its significance.
“By engaging in this (distributing rice dumplings), we ensure that the customs and values associated with this festival are preserved and passed down for many more years to come,” said Kong in a statement today.
He said it is important to appreciate and share Chinese traditions and culture, especially with the younger generation as it is a vital part of their heritage.
“By involving the youth, we help them understand and value their cultural roots,” he said.
He wished everyone a Happy Dragon Boat Festival and hoped the festive season would bring joy, unity, and a deeper appreciation for shared cultural heritage. — DayakDaily
