KUCHING, May 31: In the spirit of Malaysia Madani and the vibrant multiculturalism of Sarawak, Democratic Action Party (DAP) Stampin branch arranged for food packets for needy families in Kampung Stampin here.
Michael Kong, a special assistant to Stampin MP Chong Chieng Jen said among recipients of these food packets is Madam Lenny.
“She has been diagnosed with sleep apnea, and the doctors from Sarawak General Hospital have advised her to use a Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) machine for treatment.
“Unfortunately, she was unable to afford the costs associated with purchasing the CPAP Machine,” said Kong in a statement today.
He said upon learning about Madam Lenny’s situation through the former Tuai Rumah of Kampung Stampin, Dennis Sungkok, DAP Stampin immediately took action and arranged for the necessary funds to purchase the CPAP machine.
“I am delighted to have personally handed over the CPAP machine to Madam Lenny this morning, bringing hope and relief to her.
“With this assistance, she will be able to celebrate the upcoming Gawai Festival with greater comfort,” said Kong.
Kong also extended heartfelt wishes for a happy holiday to everyone, especially those celebrating the Gawai Festival, and reminded those returning to their villages to prioritise safety and drive carefully. — DayakDaily
