KUCHING, Nov 24: Democratic Action Party (DAP) has extended an open apology to Sarawakians and the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government today.

Democratic Action Party (DAP) secretary-general Anthony Loke came out with the apology in a statement posted on his social media page today.

“We held a friendly meeting. I have informed the Premier (of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg) that if in the event that DAP leaders in the past made any statement that have hurt the feelings of the GPS government and the people of Sarawak, I apologise on behalf of DAP.

“I hope that the meeting today will open a new chapter for a greater understanding and collaboration to pave the way to build a more advanced and progressive Malaysia,” said Loke.

Loke came out with the public apology following his meeting with Abang Johari and Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) president Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian at Abang Johari’s residence at Petrajaya this morning.

This morning at the central atrium of the Sarawak Legislative Assembly Complex at about 9am, Dr Sim was seen with a group of SUPP State lawmakers, deep in discussion.

Later, they moved to the entrance and Dr Sim was seen hopping into his vehicle before driving off.

According to a reliable source from SUPP, he was heading to Abang Johari’s residence to meet DAP top leaders from Peninsular Malaysia. — DayakDaily
