KUCHING, Oct 8: Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sarawak is temporarily suspending all its political activities from October 9-18 to minimise human contact in view of the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Its chairman Chong Chieng Jen in a statement today said walkabouts in public places, public talks and gatherings (be it small or large) will all be suspended until Oct 18 when new directives will be issued by the Health Ministry and the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee depending on the situation.

“However, members of the public who need our service and have complaints to be dealt with are free to come to or call our service centres and DAP representatives in person or through phone.

“Our service centres will remain open during the normal office hours and our elected representatives and their assistants will continue to provide service to the public.

“We hope our little effort will help to flatten the curve and ease the burden of the medical staff and the frontliners in their fight against Covid-19 pandemic,” he said in a statement.

Chong added DAP Sarawak also took the opportunity to thank the front-liners for their selfless sacrifice in the fight against Covid-19.

He also urges the people to work together to overcome the health crisis. —DayakDaily
