KUCHING, Jan 30: Ongoing repair works are being conducted on a damaged underground electrical cable in Balai Ringin, which has disrupted power supply to the water plant pumps and resulted in water supply interruptions in surrounding areas.
According to a press release, Balai Ringin assemblyman Datuk Snowdan Lawan conducted a visit to the repair site on Thursday (Jan 29) to inspect the repair works.
Snowdan, who is also the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts, expressed hope that the electrical cable repair works could be completed as soon as possible so that the electricity supply to the water treatment plant can be restored, thereby enabling the water supply to affected residents to be reinstated at the earliest opportunity.
He stressed the importance of good cooperation and coordination between the Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB), the contractor Sarawak Energy, and the Balai Ringin Sub-District Office in order to expedite the repair process.
At the same time, Snowdan also conveyed his appreciation to all parties involved for their commitment and swift action in addressing the issue for the well-being of the residents of Balai Ringin. — DayakDaily
