CSR initiative in Sebuyau enjoys good support

CSR programme at SK Tuanku Bagus, Sebuyau where combined efforts were carried out to build parking lots for the teachers.

KUCHING, Nov 27: There was an overwhelming turnout for a corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme at SK Tuanku Bagus and at Jalan Kampung Masjid Sebuyau on Sunday.

As many as 500 people from Sarawak Land and Survey Department, SK Tuanku Bagus Parent-Teacher Association, Sebuyau District Office, CMS Quarries Sdn Bhd (CMS), Ministry of Urban Development and Natural Resources, Samarahan Division Public Works Department, Sarawak Mineral and Geoscience Department, other government agencies as well as villagers were present.

CMS helping to remove huge rocks by the roadside to allow a road extension along Jalan Kampung Masjid in Sebuyau.

The Department of Land and Survey Sarawak, under the ‘Rural Transformation Initiatives (RTI): Key Result Area 9 — Effective Enforcement & Environment;, undertook the CSR programme with the cooperation of CMS Quarries (the licensee in Sebuyau) and other government agencies to ensure that the local community directly affected by quarry extraction benefits from the industrial activity.


The CSR programme was implemented in two places: SK Tuanku Bagus and at Jalan Kampung Masjid Sebuyau.

At the school, those present helped to beautify the school compound and build parking spaces for the teachers. At Jalan Kampung Masjid Sebuyau, big rocks blocking a road extension initiative were removed. — DayakDaily
