KUCHING, Feb 7: Three locations in Belaga have been placed under lockdown following increasing numbers of Covid-19 cases.
According to a Facebook post by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), the three locations are Sekapan Panjang longhouse, Uma Badeng Long Dungan longhouse and SK Airport in Belaga.
The three locations were placed under lockdown starting yesterday (Saturday).
The decision was made following the Belaga coordination and implementation committee meeting in dealing with Covid-19 yesterday.
Subsequently, the police and the People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela) have conducted roadblocks in front of SMK Belaga from 6pm until 10pm yesterday. The roadblocks were resumed today.
The Belaga Divisional Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) have also assisted to set up tents in front of SMK Belaga for personnel manning the roadblocks.
To date, Belaga district has recorded four Covid-19. — DayakDaily
