Covid-19: Sixth consecutive day of zero positive case in Sarawak

KUCHING, Aug 6: Sarawak entered the sixth day with no positive case of Covid-19.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement today said there were no positive cases of Covid-19 reported.


With no new positive case today, the committee said the cumulative number of positive Covid-19 cases in Sarawak remained at 678 cases.

It added that there were four patients from the Sarawak General Hospital who recovered and discharged today.

The committee said 38 patients are still being treated at the isolation ward in the hospitals.

SDMC said there were 33 new cases of person-under-investigation (PUI) today while six cases are awaiting laboratory results.

On another note, the committee said there were 216 persons who registered as person-under-surveillance (PUS) into hotels for quarantine today.

With the additional PUS, the committee said there are currently 1,573 PUS who are undergoing quarantine at 17 hotels throughout Sarawak.

It added that a total of 19,715 PUS have completed their quarantine today.  —DayakDaily
