Covid-19: Six patients remain in hospital, no new case in Sarawak

KUCHING, June 13: Only six active Covid-19 cases remain in the hospital in Sarawak as two recoveries and no new cases are reported today.

Sarawak thus maintained the state tally of positive cases at 556 and 17 deaths.

State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in a statement today, stated that the six active cases are still receiving treatment at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) with none admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or requiring respiratory support.


Of the recoveries, the two patients have recovered and discharged from SGH.

Overall, Sarawak recorded 533 recoveries or 95.86 per cent of total positive cases so far.

As Kuching, Samarahan and Simunjan recorded positive cases in the past 14 days, the three districts are still labelled yellow zone, which is with 40 or fewer Covid-19 cases.

Meanwhile, the state also registered 14 more person-under-investigation (PUI) cases today while seven cases are still awaiting laboratory test results.

There are also 125 more person-under-surveillance (PUS) who have been checked in to identified hotels to undergo the compulsory 14-day quarantine.

As of today, there are a total number of 1,041 individuals undergoing quarantine in 16 hotels throughout the state. —DayakDaily
