KUCHING, June 5: An eight-day respite from Covid-19 cases came to an end for Sarawak today, with one new case registered in Simunjan.
The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in a statement, informed that the green zone status of Simunjan has thus been reverted to yellow zone.
As such, there are now six districts in Sarawak labelled yellow zone, which is with 40 or fewer Covid-19 cases, including Kuching, Samarahan, Serian, Bintulu and Tanjung Manis.

With a new positive case, this brings the state tally of positive cases to 553 and 17 deaths.
With no recoveries reported today, the total number of recovered cases in Sarawak stood at 523 or 94.58 per cent of total positive cases so far.
As of today, 13 patients are being treated in hospitals throughout the state with none admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or requiring respiratory support.
There are 11 patients being treated in SGH, while Sibu Hospital and Bintulu Hospital have one each.
Meanwhile, the state also registered 16 more person-under-investigation (PUI) cases today while 19 cases are still awaiting laboratory test results.
There are also 558 more person-under-surveillance (PUS) have been checked in to identified hotels to undergo compulsory 14-day quarantines.
As of today, there are a total of 1,369 individuals undergoing quarantine in 38 hotels across Sarawak. —DayakDaily
