Covid-19: Sarawak sees zero case, Serian turns green

KUCHING, Dec 21: Sarawak reported zero positive case of Covid-19 today as the Serian district turned into a green zone of Covid-19 following no new case identified from the district in the past fortnight.

There were also three cases of recoveries reported with two cases from the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) and one case from Bintulu Hospital.

The information was revealed by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement.

With no new case of Covid-19 emerging, the tally of Covid-19 cases in Sarawak remained at 1,090 cases.

The committee said there were 15 patients who were still being treated for Covid-19 in health facilities in Sarawak.

Out of the 15 patients, 11 patients were being treated at SGH, three patients at Sibu Hospital and one patient at Miri Hospital.

SDMC said there were three cases of local transmission in the past 14 days with one case in Kuching and two cases in Sibu.

There were 21 new cases of Person-Under-Investigation (PUI) and none awaiting laboratory test results.

Apart from that, there were 392 new Person-Under-Surveillance (PUS) who registered into hotels to undergo the mandatory quarantine.

SDMC said there were 4,390 PUS who were undergoing quarantine at 42 hotels and quarantine centres throughout Sarawak while a total of 42,159 PUS have completed their quarantine period. — DayakDaily
