Covid-19: No new cases, only three active cases remain

KUCHING, Aug 19: No new Covid-19 cases or recoveries were recorded in Sarawak today.

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in a statement, informed that the state tally of positive cases remained at 682.

Meanwhile, the number of active clusters in Sarawak was maintained at seven namely the Engineering Company Cluster with eight cases, Mambong Cluster (7), Stutong Market Cluster (7), Sentosa Cluster (31), Melbourne PUI Cluster (3), Kuching Construction Company Cluster (2) and Satok Market Cluster (4).


SDMC said that three remaining patients were still receiving treatments with two at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) and one at Sibu Hospital but none admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or requiring respiratory support.

As such, the total number of recovered cases in Sarawak is 660 or 96.77 per cent of total positive cases so far.

Sarawak also reported 38 new persons-under-investigation (PUI) with seven cases awaiting laboratory test results.

In addition, 146 more person-under-surveillance (PUS) have been checked in to identified hotels to undergo quarantine.

As of today, there were a total number of 730 individuals undergoing quarantine in 16 hotels throughout the state.—DayakDaily
