KUCHING, March 19: Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) chairman Datuk Peter Minos is appealing to the people of Kota Samarahan to obey the movement control order (MCO) from the federal government and stay at home.

He observed that there are still people in the Samarahan area who remain defiant and are defying the order by the federal government by loitering in public.

He urged them to be serious by following the instructions set by the federal government so as not to put other people’s lives at risk of contracting the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).

“The police and local council enforcement officers are doing their very best during this time but a few are still defiant as if they had not heard of the government’s orders.

“Some of these few are from Samarahan in MPKS area.

“This is most regrettable and inexcusable.

“The few are posing great dangers to us all. They put us all in great risk.

“They refuse to stay put at home and some are still doing business when police are not around,” he noted.

Minos appealed to those who are defiant in Samarahan to comply with the government’s order as well as advice from the police and local councils.

He believed by following the government’s MCO, it will prevent Covid-19 from spreading further and help to contain the disease.

He urged the people of Samarahan as well as Sarawakians to cooperate with the federal government’s order for the sake and future of Sarawak. — DayakDaily
