Covid-19: 3 fatalities today, death toll rises to 26 in Malaysia

KUCHING, March 27: The Ministry of Health records a total of 26 Covid-19 deaths as of today.

The ministry in a press statement said as of press time, a total of 54 individuals tested positive for Covid-19 were being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), with 34 of them relying on ventilator to breath.

“Unfortunately as of now, three additional death related to Covid-19 have been reported to the National Crisis Preparedness and Response Center (CPRC).


“This include the one reported by the ministry’s director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in his social media post this morning, which bring the total cumulative of death due to Covid-19 in Malaysia to 26 cases,” the statement said.

It was also noted as of 12 pm today, a total of 130 new cases was reported, bringing the total number of positive cases to 2,161 cases nationwide.

“However, the Health Ministry also would like to inform that there are 44 Covid-19 patients who recovered and were discharged today. This brings the cumulative number of recovered Covid-19 cases to a total 259 cases,” said the statement. — DayakDaily
