Covid-19: 21 new cases, no fatality reported nationwide

KUCHING, June 20: Malaysia reported 21 new Covid-19 cases today, bringing its total number of infection in the country to 8,556.

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a statement said 19 were local transmissions while two were imported cases.

Of the 19 local cases, 12 involved Malaysians and seven foreigners.


Today, 76 cases have been discharged in the last 24 hours, bringing the total cumulative discharged cases to 8,146 patients who recovered from Covid-19.

Currently, there are only 289 active cases being treated at hospitals nationwide.

Three patients were being treated in the intensive care units (ICU) and none are on ventilator support.

No new Covid-19 deaths were reported today, leaving the country’s death toll from the infectious disease remain unchanged at 121. –DayakDaily.
