Covid-19: 13 fatalities with five BIDs from Betong

KUCHING, Nov 9: Sarawak registered 13 new Covid-19 deaths today including five brought-in-dead (BID) cases from Betong.

According to a report from the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), the BIDs comprised a 71-year-old man who had hypertension and diabetes, an 85-year-old man who had dyslipidemia and heart disease, a 92-year-old woman who had hypertension, a 91-year-old woman who had hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia and chronic kidney disease and an 84-year-old man who did not have any comorbidities.

In Sibu, a 68-year-old woman without comorbidities passed away on Nov 8.


SDMC said the youngest deceased reported today was a 49-year-old woman from Betong who had hypertension while the oldest deceased was a 98-year-old man from Miri who had hypertension and diabetes.

By district, Betong registered the highest number of fatalities with six deaths.

Miri had four fatalities, Kuching reported two casualites and Sibu had one fatality.

With this, the Covid-19 death toll in Sarawak is now 1,465. — DayakDaily
