Covid-19: 1 death in Sibu as Sarawak cases increase to 443 in Epid Week 42

KUCHING, Oct 24: Sarawak reports 443 new Covid-19 cases during Epid (Epidemiological) Week 42, an increase from 424 cases reported in Epid Week 41.

According to a statement issued today by the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), 430 cases were classified as Category 1 and 2, while 13 were classified as Categories 3, 4, and 5.

This has brought the total cumulative number of cases reported in the State to 316,987.


By district, Kuching remained at the top with the most number of new cases at 152, followed by Sibu (76), Miri (53), Bintulu (27), Sarikei (18), Samarahan and Bau (14 each), Mukah (11), Serian (9), Sri Aman and Lundu (8 each), Pakan (7), Dalat (6), Kapit and Lubok Antu (5 each), Simunjan and Song (4 each), Julau, Matu, and Daro (3 each), Subis, Kanowit, Asajaya, and Beluru (2 each), and Meradong, Lawas, Betong, Pusa, and Telang Usan (1 each).

In addition, one new Covid-19 death was reported in Sibu during Epid Week 42. — DayakDaily
